Here's something that not many people even think about but is VERY helpful.
You can actually climb up a ladder quietly, by pressing and holding the 'walk' key (key 'c') while climbing up.
This is very helpful when trying to do a sneak-attack on maps like waverider, two towers, rattlesnake and snow valley.
